The Instructors

In addition to their work with SEA, Chris Burt, MEd, and Susie Richards, MEd, have been working in the service-learning, community-based learning and adventure education fields for the past 15 years. Both are K-12 certified teachers and adjunct instructors in the higher education field. Through the design and implementation of community-based programs for numerous school districts and universities, they have developed an extensive network of community resources and collaborative partnerships on a national level. For the past seven years, they have coordinated the Washington State Service-Learning Training Cadre, through the Learn and Serve America Office of The Superintendent of Public Instruction, and have engaged in professional development trainings across the State of Washington and the Pacific Northwest.
